Full review

FTMO was founded in Prague, Czech Republic in 2015 and pioneered the online evaluation-challenge model for prop trading. In 2025 it announced and completed the acquisition of the regulated broker OANDA, a significant corporate step.

FTMO itself is not a regulated financial institution: traders are evaluated on simulated accounts and, once successful, receive a share of simulated profits as a reward. This differs from opening a live account with a broker.

Evaluation routes include a 2-Step (Challenge and Verification) and a 1-Step challenge, with daily and overall loss limits and profit targets. Trader profit share is up to 90%, and on the 2-Step route the fee is refunded with the first reward. MT4, MT5 and cTrader are supported, with leverage up to 1:100.

Challenge fees start from about €89 for a $10k account. Payment is via card, crypto and e-wallets. FTMO does not accept residents of sanctioned countries, including Iran.
