Full review

Bybit launched in 2018, initially known for perpetual contracts. It moved its headquarters from Singapore to Dubai in 2022 and is now among the largest exchanges by derivatives volume.

In May 2025 its European arm received a MiCA licence from Austria's FMA and set up a Vienna EU headquarters, and in the UAE it obtained a virtual asset platform operator licence from the SCA. In February 2025 Bybit suffered one of the largest crypto hacks on record (about $1.5 billion in ETH), attributed to the Lazarus Group; the exchange said it covered the loss and withdrawals continued.

Base spot fees are 0.1%; derivatives are 0.02% maker and 0.055% taker. Features include a Unified Trading Account, copy trading, bots, demo trading, earn products and an Islamic account.

Funding is via crypto, cards and P2P. Bybit does not accept residents of Iran and KYC is required.
