OKX launched in 2017 as OKEx and rebranded in 2022. Its main international entity is registered in Seychelles, and it ranks among the top exchanges by derivatives volume.

OKX holds a VARA licence in Dubai, a MiCA licence via its Malta entity, a MAS payment institution licence in Singapore and FinCEN MSB registration in the US. In February 2025 it pleaded guilty in the US to operating an unlicensed money-transmitting business and paid over $500 million.

Base spot fees are 0.08% maker and 0.10% taker. Perpetuals, options, margin, copy trading, bots, demo trading and the self-custodial OKX Wallet are available, and Proof of Reserves is published regularly.

Funding is via crypto, cards and P2P. OKX does not accept residents of Iran.
