Full review
Nobitex started operating in 2017 and is based at Sharif Technology Park in Tehran. With several million registered users it is Iran's largest crypto marketplace and a key source of domestic liquidity.
Like other Iranian exchanges it has no international regulatory licence and operates under domestic rules with KYC and connection to the Iranian banking network. In June 2025 its hot wallets were hit by a cyberattack claimed by the group Predatory Sparrow (Gonjeshke Darande), with roughly $90 million in crypto taken out of circulation; the exchange gradually resumed services and said losses would be covered from its own resources. Blockchain analytics firms have also reported links between some of its flows and sanctions evasion.
Toman and USDT markets use tiered fees; at the base tier the toman market is 0.20% maker / 0.25% taker and the USDT market 0.10% / 0.13%. Margin trading up to 5x, staking and yield farming are available.
Toman deposits and withdrawals use Shetab bank cards and bank transfers (including ID-tagged deposits), and mobile apps are available for Android and iOS via local stores. The service is built for Iranian users with full Persian support.
